Site Descriptions

UC Berkeley has five sites. Approximately 445 K-12th grade students and 100 undergraduates participated in the sites (based on 2005-06 data).
Program Sites:
  • Kidnet, located at Castlemont High School in Oakland. Principal Investigator: Professor Glynda Hull in the Graduate School of Education.

  • Kidnet, located at St. Martins de Porres Elementary School in Oakland. Principal Investigator: Professor Glynda Hull in the Graduate School of Education.
  • Expedition, located at Roosevelt Middle School in Oakland. Principal Investigators: Professor Ruth Tringham, Professor Margaret Conkey, and Professor Kent Lightfoot, who are all in the Department of Anthropology and the Archaeological Research Facility. Site program director: Tamara Sturak.
  • Expedition, located at Manzanita Elementary School in Oakland. Principal Investigators: Professor Ruth Tringham, Professor Margaret Conkey, and Professor Kent Lightfoot, who are all in the Department of Anthropology and the Archaeological Research Facility. Site program director: Tamara Sturak.
  • Y-PLAN (Youth-Plan, Learn, Act, Now), located at Emery Secondary School in Emeryville. Principal Investigators: Dean Harrison Fraker and Dr. Deborah McKoy in the College of Environmental Design.
