The
children at the Expedition UC Links program at Roosevelt Middle
School in Oakland started producing their own digital stories
in February of 2002. Using the teaching methodology of Joe and
Nina at the Center for Digital Storytelling, Expedition’s
director, Tamara Sturak, adapted the CDS program to the lower-tech
environment at Roosevelt. PowerPoint is the primary tool children
use to produce results that delighted all the teachers, friends
and family members who attended Expedition’s “Film
Festival” at the end of the semester. |
